Cold Fur Storage in NYC
Keep your fur coat safe all summer with climate-controlled cold storage, pickup and delivery across NYC and the tri-state area.
Fur wants cold air, low humidity, and darkness in the summer --- the exact opposite of a bedroom closet. When you store a coat with ERNY, it goes into a climate-controlled vault built for pelts, not a general warehouse.
Every coat is inspected on intake. We check the skins, the lining, and the closures. At the end of the season, it's inspected again before it goes back on your shoulders. The whole point is simple: put the coat away right, and it wears beautifully for years.

What is fur coat storage?
Climate-controlled cold storage, kept at roughly 40-50°F and 40-50% humidity, away from the heat, light, and humidity of a NYC summer that dry out and crack a pelt.
Why is fur coat storage important?
A home closet runs too warm and humid for months at a time; that combination is what causes shedding, dry/brittle leather, and moth damage --- cold storage is what actually stops it.
Can I just store my fur coat at home in a closet or plastic bag?
Not recommended: plastic garment bags trap moisture against the pelt (the single most common damage-causing mistake), and most home closets run too warm through summer.
What's the difference between fur storage and fur cleaning?
Storage protects the coat over summer; cleaning (done by a furrier, not a dry cleaner) removes soil and reconditions the leather --- most owners want both, which is why we price them together.
How much does fur storage cost in NYC?
At ERNY Furs, seasonal cold storage starts at $85 per coat. Storage plus a full cleaning is $110 per coat. Luxury furs --- including chinchilla, sable, broadtail, and shearling --- are $125 per coat. Cleaning only, without storage, is $80 per coat. Moth-proofing treatment is a $150 add-on. One flat $35 pickup and delivery fee covers the entire tri-state area, roundtrip.
